Auxiliary Services

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine offers more treatments that are Auxiliary to the traditional acupuncture. At Healing Mantra, we use many techniques to provide the best treatment for our patients’ benefit.

Cupping

Cupping, an ancient healing practice with roots in traditional Chinese medicine, has gained modern popularity as a holistic therapy that promotes well-being. This technique involves placing cups on the skin to create suction, drawing the underlying tissues into the cups. As the cups gently pull on the skin, a therapeutic vacuum effect occurs, stimulating blood flow and promoting various health benefits.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha is a smooth edged tool made of either stone (typically green or pink Jade or other similar therapeutic stones) or therapeutic metals like copper. A well trained Acupuncturist uses Gua Sha to gently and firmly stroke on the skin to stimulate blood flow to promote pain relief and to clear the path of energy flow.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion (or Moxa in short) is a technique in Chinese medicine, where the herb known as Mugwork (Artemesia vulgaris) is burnt to create the warmth in the body during the treatment. It can be used for many conditions including pain related to Women’s health (Menstrual irregularities, Dysmenorrhea). It promotes the movement of Qi and blood and warms the whole body. It is a great complimentary therapy as an add on to acupuncture treatments.
